An event organised by the Cancer Alliance brought together support staff from across Calderdale’s primary, secondary and community sectors.
The ‘Connecting Roles’ event on 19 March was chaired by Dr Eilidh Gunson, Cancer Care Coordinator, Pennine GP Alliance with the aim being to showcase the contribution that different organisations and roles bring to the cancer patient journey in the community model of support.
It was also an opportunity to make connections and explore opportunities for collaboration and making best use of available resources for supporting people affected by cancer and their families.
Attendee feedback highlighted the event’s success, with participants valuing the opportunity to connect, learn about each other’s roles, and explore better ways to collaborate.
One said, "It was a good opportunity to meet different professionals to see where their roles fit in terms of supporting cancer patients.”
