Coping with Cancer and Dementia Together - Harrogate
The Coping with Cancer and Dementia Together project has been funded by West Yorkshire and Harrogate Cancer Alliance to address the complex needs of people living with both cancer and dementia and their carers.
The project is a partnership between the Cancer Alliance, Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust, Dementia Forward and Leeds Beckett University. It is taking forward a number of recommendations from research into the practical, patient-centred help that is needed by people facing these challenging issues.
Specific areas of focus include helping people to make their own decisions about the care and support they need; developing the skills of clinical and non-clinical staff, improving communication and making best use of the resources available.
