The early diagnosis and health inequalities programme aims to reduce inequalities in access, care, and outcomes.
We commission targeted screening and early interventions with populations most affected by health inequalities, with the aim of increasing early diagnosis rates by 2% per year, around 100 extra lives saved.
Through this programme of work, we are working to achieve:
- more people surviving cancer and living longer
- a stage shift in cancer diagnosis meaning more people being diagnosed earlier
- more eligible people talking up their invitation to cancer screening
