5K Your Way – Activity To Support Those Living With and Beyond Cancer

A cancer support group with a difference, aiming to encourage those living with and beyond cancer; their family and friends, and those working in cancer services to walk, jog, run cheer or volunteer, is available in Leeds.

5K Your Way is a community-based event linked to parkrun locations around the country on the last Saturday of every month, including through the Woodhouse parkrun in Leeds.

The initiative was founded by Lucy Gossage, a Nottingham oncologist and champion triathlete, and Gemma Hillier-Moses, an international athlete and founder of the MOVE charity, who was diagnosed with cancer herself aged 24, back in 2012. Both are passionate about supporting people living with and beyond cancer to use exercise and movement to increase their physical and mental wellbeing.

Local Ambassadors are on hand at each event to meet and greet visitors at a designated meeting spot.

They will also gather together those taking part after the event, for mutual support and a chat.
