We have recently reviewed our communications and engagement strategy - the document that describes how we will listen to people who are affected by cancer to ensure our services are wrapped around them; how we will engage with colleagues who are involved in delivering cancer care; how we will inform, explain and account for the work we do and the channels we will use to communicate.
In 2019, the Cancer Alliance Board agreed that the document should be reviewed and refreshed to take account of progress so far and also developments nationally, regionally and locally since the original strategy was agreed by the Board.
A period of consultation ran until the end of November 2019 with a range of stakeholders, and a revised version was presented to the Board for consideration In 13th December 2019.Click here to view the revised strategy approved by the Board on that date and the accompanying Board paper.
The consultation included discussions with the Cancer Alliance Patient Experience Expert Advisory Group; the Alliance community/patient panel; West Yorkshire and Harrogate Partnership lay members’ reference group; ongoing discussions with cancer teams across West Yorkshire and Harrogate, and raising public awareness through this website and on social media.
The Cancer Alliance is currently working with a 'task and finish' sub group of the community/patient panel to produce an easy read version of the strategy, and new information leaflet for people wanting to know more about the work of the Alliance.
